Behind the Scenes at Villa TV
Partner work by Max P, for Villa TV.
We were invited to step behind the scenes with Aston Villa, capturing BTS photography for their in-house streaming platform, Villa TV. As one of England’s most historic football clubs, Aston Villa carries a legacy that stretches far beyond the pitch — and our role was to document the moments that shape how that story is told. Villa TV offers supporters exclusive access to the club, from player features to behind-the-scenes content that brings fans closer to the game.
Working across the session, we photographed players including Leon Bailey, Jacob Ramsey, and Andrés García. Each brought a distinct presence to the frame.
Bailey, an established international, has built his reputation across top European leagues with his pace and direct style. Ramsey, a product of Aston Villa’s academy, represents the progression of homegrown talent into the first team. García, still early in his journey, reflects the next wave of players stepping into a highly competitive environment.
Projects like this sit naturally between sport, media, and storytelling. There’s also a responsibility that comes with it. Footballers are often reduced to outputs, highlights, and headlines, viewed more as assets than people. At the same time, modern fandom — shaped by parasocial relationships — can blur the line between access and assumption. The objective was simple, capture genuine moments in the context of the workplace. Footballers are normal people who have a flashy 9 to 5. Using this perspective, we aimed to showcase the person, as well as the professional.
