The creative direction for this concert was initially inspired by The Weeknd’s “Live at SoFi Stadium” album cover. I was listening to this album at work and I fell in love with the gradient map on the metallic mask. This led me to go down a rabbit hole looking at gradients, robots, and that nostalgic metallic effect that is so synonymous with 80s design.

I want to credit Shin Ishizuka’s (@microtemporal) work for Soto as another major inspiration for the creative direction. Without his black, blue, green, and yellow flamed “GEZAN” poster, I definitely would not have had the idea to layer up the background with shapes. Triangles are becoming very common in my works for some reason. I also want to credit one of my design idols, Magdiel Lopez (@magdiellop), for making me fall in love with gradients. I remember 4 years ago I did a design unit in college purely based on him. I love Magdiel Lopez.
